Assessing the Real-World Effectiveness of Gamified Learning Tools in Project Management Education​

This study examines the applied impact of gamified learning tools within project management education across academic and corporate contexts. Anchored in Experiential Learning Theory (ELT), Self-Determination Theory (SDT), and Cognitive Load Theory (CLT), the research synthesizes validated datasets to model how gamification influences learner engagement, knowledge retention, and real-world skill development.

Using a quasi-experimental simulation design, the study contrasts gamified instructional environments with traditional lecture-based approaches. Findings indicate stronger task completion rates, higher engagement metrics, and improved performance in simulated project management challenges, particularly in risk assessment, deadline adherence, and decision-making accuracy.

Rather than collecting primary human-subject data, the study integrates validated empirical research to construct a practice-informed framework for scalable curriculum innovation. Ethical considerations, implementation barriers, and policy alignment are also examined.
